BIOGRAPHY
1 Luv made her national debut on Simon Cowell’s singing competition “X Factor” season one, where she progressed to the top twenty girls in 2012. This year, she competed on American Idol's Farewell Season finishing in the final 75. With a foundation in classical vocal training and several years of studying dance, she has used her high energy stage productions to land opportunities to open for acts like Icona Pop, Jagged Edge, Jason Nelson, Emeli Sande, Wu-Tang Clan, and Cher Lloyd.
In 2012, 1 Luv placed second at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. In 2013, she was selected to perform at the third largest pride event in America in Washington D.C. In 2015, 1 Luv performed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.
1 Luv represents unity, diversity, acceptance, tolerance, and LUV. She performs meaningful, eclectic sets that motivate, inspire, and leave you with a powerful message. With a strong belief in using your gifts responsibly, and giving back to the community, 1 Luv has donated her time and talent to several community-based events and charitable organizations.
1 Luv has been a supporter of the NAACP participating in scholarship banquets, cultural festivals, and concerts to give back to her community. She was especially honored to open with the singing of the National Anthem for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Honors in Washingotn D.C. in 2009, where former NAACP President, Kweisi Mfume, gave an eloquent speech.
1 Luv attended the Barbara Ingram School for the Performing Arts in Hagerstown, MD for voice. She was awarded a scholarship in vocal music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and currently is studying with Berklee in their distance learning program to earn her degree in Music Business. She continues to actively perform and is working on the completion of her first full-length album!
